Bollywood filmmaker Anil Sharma’s Gadar 2: The Katha Continues is one of the most-anticipated movies of 2023. A sequel to his hit 2001 film, ever since the announcement, fans have been eagerly waiting for the return of their beloved characters. The movie will see Sunny Deol, Utkarsh Sharma and Ameesha Patel reprising their roles of Tara Singh, Charanjeet Singh and Sakeena. Well with the movie already being hyped up, the director, on Wednesday announced that they will be releasing the first song on June 29th.
Talking to his official Instagram handle, Sharma revealed that the first song of the movie will be a reprised version ‘Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava’ from the first instalment. Sharing a poster of Sunny and Ameesha embracing each other, the director wrote, “Get ready for the love story that transcends time!” In the poster while the actor can be seen sporting a white turban, the actress has draped a colourful dupatta on her head. For the unversed, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001) was a partition-drama. It followed the journey of Tara Singh who falls in love with a Pakistani Muslim girl Sakina. After they get married and have a kid, Sakina is forced to go to her country by her father, leaving her family. The father-son duo then goes to Pakistan to rescue her.
The upcoming movie will focus more on the father-son relationship between Sunny and Utkarsh. Set to release on August 11th, 2023. The movie is directed and produced by Anil Sharma.
